In een dorpje in het hart van de Surinaamse jungle spelen meisjes en jongens een raadselachtig spel: een monster wil hen vangen om hen op te eten. Volgens een lokale legende zou de enige blanke ter plaatse, een Nederlander, dit befaamde monster zijn.

Dans un petit village situé au cœur de la jungle au Surinam, filles et garçons jouent à un jeu énigmatique : un monstre cherche à attraper les enfants pour les manger. Une légende locale dit que le seul Blanc à vivre sur place, un néerlandais, serait le fameux monstre.

In a little village located in the heart of the Surinamese jungle, girls and boys are playing an enigmatic game: a monster is trying to catch them for food. According to a local legend, the only white man who lives there, a Dutchman, could be this famous monster.

Een deserteur wordt wakker en ontdekt dat zijn lichaam levenloos op de grond ligt. Aangezien hij geen andere keuze heeft, begint hij aan deze nieuwe reis. Hij ontmoet er een groep tieners die hem een crematieceremonie willen geven, terwijl zijn dode lichaam tegelijkertijd wordt gezocht door een militaire patrouille.

Un déserteur se réveille pour découvrir que son corps gît inanimé sur le sol. Il n’a pas d’autre choix que de se lancer dans un nouveau voyage au cours duquel il rencontre un groupe de jeunes qui s’occupent de sa cérémonie de crémation alors qu’une patrouille militaire est encore à la recherche de son corps.

A deserter awakes to discover that his body is laying lifelessly on the ground. Having no other choice, he embarks on a new journey where he encounters a group of teenagers who intend to give him a cremation ceremony while, at the same time, a military patrol is searching for his dead body.
