In 1980 stelt Téo Hernandez aan drie vrienden voor een film samen te regisseren. Verzameld als collectief met de naam MétroBarbèsRochechouArt zullen de vier vrienden en cineasten 4 à 4 regisseren, een aanstekelijke getuigenis van de creatieve en collectieve vrijheidsdrang die de kunstenaars van het Parijs van toen bezielde. Voorafgegaan door een andere film van het collectief, een speelse en genereuze ode aan de vriendschap, en door een kortfilm in co-regie met Gaël Badaud, die ons uitnodigt in het populaire Parijs van de steegjes van Belleville en van het kerkhof Père-Lachaise, in het spoor van een gelegenheidspersonage.

En 1980, Téo Hernandez propose à trois amis de réaliser un film à quatre. Réunis en collectif sous le nom de MétroBarbèsRochechouArt, les quatre amis et cinéastes vont réaliser 4 à 4, un réjouissant témoignage de l’esprit de liberté créatrice et de partage qui animait les artistes du Paris de l’époque. Précédé d’un autre film du collectif, ludique et généreux, qui célèbre l’amitié les yeux dans les yeux ; et d’un court métrage réalisé en collaboration avec Gaël Badaud, nous invitant dans le Paris populaire des ruelles de Belleville et du cimetière du Père-Lachaise, au gré des errances d’un personnage-prétexte.

In 1980, Téo Hernandez proposed to three friends to make a film together. Gathered under the collective name of MétroBarbèsRochechouArt, the four friends and filmmakers made 4 à 4, an entertaining testament to the spirit of creative freedom and sharing that inspired the artists of Paris at the time. Preceded by another of the collective’s films, a playful and generous one that celebrates confidence in friendship; and a short film made in collaboration with Gaël Badaud, inviting us to the popular Paris alleys of Belleville and the Père-Lachaise Cemetery, following the wanderings of a character-pretext.
