« I found a big lighthouse lens in a flea market in Brussels some months ago and this lens will be the ‘protagonist’ of a new film of mine. » (Antoinette Zwirchmayr)

Vertrekkend van een strikte evocatie, aan een touw, van de geometrie van de optica van een maritieme vuurtoren in Navigator (Björn Kammerer, 2015), koppelt deze vertoning de recente kortfilms van Antoinette Zwirchmayr (Venus Delta, 2016 – in competitie) aan oudere, zelden vertoonde films (Dry Shampoo, 2011) en zelfs aan de evocatie van films die nog moeten worden gedraaid (zie citaat hierboven)! Volgens de filmmaakster/programmator is de vraag van de vorm – en ronde vormen in het bijzonder – een van de rode draden die deze films verbindt: naakte lichamen, eierschalen in haar eigen films, optische lenzen bij Kammerer… maar ook Californische sinaasappels in Apanhar Laranjas van Silvia das Fadas, 2012 of de raadselachtige voorwerpen – steen? fruit? planeet? – die worden gemanipuleerd in Jícaro van Rosa John, 2016.

Commençant par l’évocation stricte, au cordeau, de la géométrie de l’optique d’un phare maritime dans Navigator (Björn Kammerer, 2015), cette séance associe des courts métrages d’Antoinette Zwirchmayr récents (Venus Delta, 2016, en compétition) à des films plus anciens, rarement montrés (Dry Shampoo, 2011), voire à l’évocation de films encore à tourner (cf. exergue ci-dessus). De l’aveu de la cinéaste-programmatrice, la question de la forme – et des formes rondes en particulier – est un des fils rouges qui relient ces films : corps nus, coquilles d’œuf dans ses propres films, lentilles d’optique chez Kammerer… mais aussi oranges californiennes dans Apanhar Laranjas de Silvia das Fadas, 2012 ou l’objet mystérieux – pierre ? fruit ? planète ? – manipulé dans Jícaro de Rosa John, 2016.

This compilation, beginning with the meticulous evocation of the geometry of a lighthouse lens in Navigator (Björn Kämmerer, 2015), combines recent short films by Antoinette Zwirchmayr (Venus Delta, 2016 – in competition) with older, rarely shown films (Dry Shampoo, 2011), and even evoces films still to be filmed! (See citation). According to the filmmaker-programmer, the question of form – and of round forms in particular – is one of the leitmotifs that connects these films: naked bodies and eggshells in her own films, optical lenses in Kämmerer’s film… but also Californian oranges in Silvia das Fadas’s Apanhar Laranjas from 2012, or the mysterious object – a stone? a fruit? a planet? – that is being manipulated in Rosa John’s Jícaro from 2016.
