“All you need to make a film is a girl and a gun”. Prenant pour point de départ la célèbre maxime de David W. Griffith – que plus tard Jean-Luc Godard fit sienne –, ce drame cinématographique en cinq actes articule autour du thème de la lutte des sexes des fragments de films ethnographiques, des images de guerre, des extraits de documentaires scientifiques et des bobines de films pornographiques. “All you need to make a film is a girl and a gun”. Met het beroemde adagium van David W. Griffith – dat Jean-Luc Godard zich later eigen maakte – als uitgangspunt combineert dit filmisch drama in vijf bedrijven fragmenten van etnografische films, oorlogsbeelden, uittreksels uit wetenschappelijke documentaires en pornofilms om zo de strijd tussen de seksen uit te beelden. Elf verschillende archieven leverden basismateriaal voor deze film van mythische proporties. De muziek is van Bohren & Der Club of Gore, David Grubbs, Olga Neuwirth, Lucia Pulido en Soap & Skin.

“All you need to make a movie is a girl and a gun”. Taking as a starting point the famous quote of David W. Griffith – revived by Jean-Luc Godard – this drama in five acts illustrates the battle of the sexes. The film is made out of fragments of ethnographic documents, war footage, science documentaries and early pornographic films.
